The Hunger and Nutrition Commitment Index Africa (HANCI-Africa) ranks 45 African governments on their political commitment to tackling hunger and undernutrition. We hope this will:
- Enable civil society to put pressure on governments and international policy makers to do better
- Encourage governments to evaluate their own efforts and to prioritise appropriate action
If we can achieve these goals we believe we can make a real contribution to increasing and intensifying action to reduce hunger and undernutrition.
HANCI-Africa is produced using a methodology developed by the Institute of Development Studies’ (IDS) and partners with financial support from NEPAD and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation.
